Israel FIFA ranking: 38

Malta FIFA ranking: 151

Euro 2012 preliminaries matches kick off this week with this only match on Thursday when Israel welcomes Malta in Group F.

Israel is rated as a clear favorite for this match against a team candidate for the last spots in this group with bookies offering victory odds at around 1,1.

Croatia and Greece will probably be the best candidates for the top 2 spots and Israel needs to take every match serious if they are to cause problems and claim a spot in the final tournament.

Malta has no real prospects in achieving great things in this group, although their opponents are far from top class, the small Mediterranean country has no history or tradition in international tournaments.

Finishing their World Cup 2010 qualification last with only one point gathered they failed to win any of the following 4 friendly matches with 3 defeats and one draw at home against Macedonia.

My tip:  Israel to win ( over 3.5 goals )

Bayern Munchen  last 3 away match: winwinwin

Table positions: Kaiserslautern -2, Bayern Munchen -6

Kaiserslautern home table position: -

Bordeaux away table position: -

Victorious in their first matches of the new season in the Bundesliga bot Kaiserslautern and Bayern Munchen are looking to continue their trend this Friday.

Kaiserslautern as a newly promoted team to the Bundesliga had a great start to the season with a 1-3 victory away to FC Koln where they showed great morale and managed to turn around the scoreline in the last 20 minutes of play.

Against a team like Bayern Munchen they will always be the underdogs but that will not make the opposition side have a easy match by all means with a fanatic support in the crowds.

Bayern Munchen dominated the first part in the match with Wolfsburg and they where set for a easy win until the 55′ minute when Dzeko changed everything.

Bastian Schweinsteiger grabbed the winning goal in extra time and lifted up Bayern’s morale for this match. The champions still show great gaps in defense only to compensate with great play in the middle.

My pick:  Draw ( over 2.5 goals )

Young Boys last 5 matches: winwinlostwinwin

Young Boys last 3 away matches: lostwinwin

With an aggregate score of 3-2 in favor of Young Boys, Tottenham has a very difficult task at hand in trying to overcome the deficit and access the Champions League group stage.

Stunning development for Tottenham in the first round of the confrontation as Young Boys where in the lead 3 goals to nil in the first 30′ minutes of the match.

The English side showed great confidence and grabbed a goal before the second half was over only to grab the second late in the game keeping their chances alive for the qualification.

Although in the domestic league things are not great for Young Boys, the team shows great determination in getting a spot in the UCL groups.

They managed to to defeat the mighty Fenerbahce in the previous round of the qualifications creating one of the biggest surprises so far and have now a great chance in eliminating Tottenham as they will most likely play a very defensive football.

My pick:  Tottenham to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Return leg in the Champions League final qualifying round and Sevilla welcomes Sporting Braga starting from a one goal deficit.

With mounting pressure on the team, Sevilla desperately needs a victory in this match as the access to the Champions League groups will bring them much needed confidence for the season ahead.

They lost the first trophy of the season as they where defeated by Barcelona in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup 4-0 making the aggregate score 5-3 for the Catalans.

Sporting Braga confirmed their good for in the last season when they finished second in the Portuguese Liga and eliminated Celtic in the previous round of the UCL with a conclusive victory at home and and a defeat by the slightest of margins away.

The team managed to gather 4 points in the first 2 matches of the new domestic league season but it still showing problems in away matches.

My pick:  Sevilla to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Bordeaux last 5 league matches: drawwinlostlostlost

Bordeaux last 3 away match: drawlostlost

Table positions: PSG -4, Bordeaux -20

PSG home table position: -1

Bordeaux away table position: -18

Closing match of this third round in the French Ligue 1 with a very close contest between PSG and Boreaux  Sunday night.

Although they managed only the 13th spot of the table last season, PSG can hope again at higher performances as they won the Cup, their first trophy in the past few years.

Their start is encouraging as they went past Saint-Etienne 3-1 the final score and pulled one point away to Lille whilst grabbing a victory already this week against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League preliminaries.

After 2 round, Bordeaux is last in the standings failing to grab any points from their matches with Montpellier away and home against Toulouse.

It was not a easy start for them that’s sure but the team should have claimed some points from this disputes if only their offense was stronger.

My pick:  PSG to win ( under 2.5 goals, draw is also likely )
