The derby match in Group B of the Euro 2012 qualifications as Russia welcomes Slovakia both teams coming after victories in their debut games.

Russia seems to have some problems with teams from central Europe as they lost their place in the World Cup tournament in a knock out against Slovenia and more recently finished only in a one all draw against Hungary.

They started this new campaign with a 0-2 victory away to outsiders Andorra, a very predictable result and a good boost for their morale but the team showed some weakness in midfield.

Slovakia started their Euro campaigh with a very difficult home match against FYR Macedonia finished in a 1-0 victory for them thanks to a goal in the 90′ minute.

Macedonia caused them a lot of problems by overcrowding the defences but this match against Russia will most likely see the play go the other way with plenty of spaces in which Slovakia to strike on the counter-attack.

My tip:  Russia to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Group G of the 2012 Euro preliminaries is at first glance an easy one for England with serious opposition only from Bulgaria and Switzerland for the top spots.

England starts fresh after their embarrassing run at the 2010 World Cup where all their hopes of getting the ultimate trophy crumbled with poor displays from the group phase only to be thrashed by Germany in the knock out stages.

They managed a good morale boosting victory last month as they won 2-1 against Hungary as Gerard scored a double but it’s clear that the team still has huge gaps and the manager so far couldn’t bring teamwork to the star players.

By their latest results in friendly matches, the Bulgarian team seems to be in a downward spiral failing to win any of the past 4 matches played with defeats against Poland, Belgium and Russia and only a draw against South Africa.

The away matches are by far their weakest points, the last victory whilst traveling dating back in 2009 in a match against Malta.

My tip:  England to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Group A of the Euro 2012 qualifications kicks off with a very challenging test for Germany as they travel to Belgium in search of their first victory.

Although they missed out on the World Cup final tournament this summer, Belgium is a very though team to crack on it’s home ground and any new tournament brings high hopes.

They will have a difficult trip ahead with Germany as clear favorite to win the group and Turkey fighting for the second spot with Austria. Good results for them in the last friendly matches played with 3 victories out of the past 4 matches played at home and a defeat against Bulgaria but none of the teams encountered live up to their current adversaries reputation.

Germany starts off as favorite in this match and to claim the top spot. After a great World Cup display of offensive football they are certainly motivated to show their best in the Euro.

Their last friendly match brought a one all draw against Denmark, similar in stile and performances with Belgium but the charge of the official debut match should have them motivated for the victory.

My tip:  Germany to win ( under 2.5 goals )
