By far the most exciting match of the week in the Champions League as trophy holders Barcelona welcome Serie A champions AC Milan on Tuesday in one of the two leg ties that will decide the Group H winner.

Barcelona with eyes on this trophy as well after they managed to win it for the third time last season in a final against Manchester United.

They already have the Spanish Super Cup in the bag but felt on the 4th spot of the Primera Division as they where held to shocking draw by Real Sociedad in the weekend after leading 0-2 at half time. This missed step should not have a huge impact on their season objective but in terms of morale it can count as the myth of the unbeatable team is beginning to shake.

Ac Milan with high objectives of it’s own after a very good performance in the last season when they managed to win the Serie A with points to spare.

Their start to the new season was not as impressive, as their opponents, they where held to a two all draw by Lazio on home ground in the Friday opening stage.

Champions League group stage begins on Tuesday with some interesting fixtures to chose from, among them this one in which Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund welcomes Arsenal.

Borussia Dortmund has a hesitant start to the new season as they sit only on the 11th spot of the Bundesliga table with a total of just 5 points in 5 matches played.

They lost their weekend game, rather surprisingly as they hosted Hertha Berlin but failed to impress in a match dominated by their adversaries.

Arsenal with a rather similar situation to their opponents. They have lost top players this summer and from their current results it seems they are far from any top spots in the Premier League.

They sit on the 11th spot in the league but with only 4 points gathered in all 4 played, 3 of them managed this weekend against Swansea City by the slightest of margins.

Benfica with the highest chances of qualifying in the UCL group stage as they will play this decisive match on home ground and already have a great advantage with their two goals scored away.

With two rounds passed in the Portuguese Primeira Liga they currently sit on the third spot with 4 points after last week’s victory over Feirense, a goos practice and morale boost.

Twente managed a crucial equalizing goal last week as Ruiz kept the team in this knock-out by scoring in the 80′ minute after a match dominated by their opponents.

They are top of the Dutch Eredivisie with a perfect run after 3 games including the weekend victory, a 1-5 trashing away to Heerenveen.

One of the most interesting fixtures of the night in the Champions League playoff as Villarreal of Spain welcomes Denmark’s OB after a shocking defeat in last week’s leg.

Villarreal regarded as clear favorites for this one after last week’s display away to OB where they managed to dominate the entire match only to be defeated by a huge defensive mistake.

They have yet to start their domestic league run as the La Liga was postponed due to the player’s strike and this could factor in for fitness, nonetheless the chance of getting in the Group stage of the UCL from the Spanish league is not one to be passed off.

OB clearly the surprise of the first round as they where dominated the entire match by Villarreal, playing an all defensive game and managing to strike after a defensive mistake.

They are on a good run when looking at their latest results, no less than 4 victories in the last 5 official matches but their aim tonight will certainly be to defend their lead.

Catching up to do for Genk after the 2-1 defeat in the first round in Israel but things are set to be different with the Belgian side viewed as favorite in this one.

They are on a great run with 3 consecutive victories in all competitions and morale should be high for this difficult trip.
