Table positions: Mallorca -9 , Levante -14

Mallorca home table position: -9

Levante away table position: -12

Closing match of the 9th round of the Spanish Primera Division and the only one to be played on Monday as Mallorca welcome Levante.

After a very good last season, Mallorca is finding hard to find it’s pace now and sits on a modest 9th spot of the table with a total of only 11 points.

Transforming their home pitch in a stronghold last season, they have now won only 2 of the 4 matches played here with one encouraging factor as they conceded just one goal.

Levante is one of the clear relegation candidates of the competition, just above the danger zone now with a total of 8 points they won only one match in the last 4 played.

With one of the poorest offensive in the competition it’s no wonder they have scored only 8 goals so far with mirror records both at home and away.

My pick:  Mallorca to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Very interesting match in the Spanish Primera Division on Saturday and one that can prove decisive when the season closes as raining champions Barcelona welcome Sevilla.

Barcelona picking up speed after a modest start with 4 victories in the last 5 matches of the league but still trailing Real Madrid by 1 point in the table.

Easy victory for them in the Copa del Rey this week against Ceuta just what they needed to take on a very though opponent as Sevilla is.

Sevilla is still struggling to climb up the charts as they managed only 14 points in the first 8 matches played in the Primera Division but still showing great gaps in defense proven by the 11 goals conceded.

Poor form and results for them in away matches so far as they lost their last 2 trips of the competition to Hercules and Sporting Gijon.

My pick:  Barcelona to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Separated by only one point in the Spanish Primera Division Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao will provide one of the most interesting fixtures on Sunday.

With no less than seven round of the league already played, Sevilla had a hesitant start to the season and with a total of just 11 points they are on a disappointing 7th spot.

Their main problem seems to be their offensive as they managed to score only 10 goals and things look similar on home pitch where their goal differential shows only 6 scored but an encouraging 2 conceded.

Athletic Bilbao trailing Sevilla by only one points with a similar form as their opponents as they managed only 2 victories in the last 6 played and 3 in total.

They seem to concede many goals but focus on a very defensive game whilst playing away leading me to believe they will do the same here.

My pick:  Sevilla to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Mallorca – Espanyol 17.10

Table positions: Mallorca -9 , Espanyol -8

Espanyol away table position: -20

Six matches in the Spanish Primera Division on Sunday with Mallorca versus Espanyol one of the most balanced kicking off.

Mallorca following the trail sen in the last season with very good performances on home pitch and a great deal of points lost away to modest rivals.

They head into this game with a strong morale after being able to hold Barcelona to a one all draw last week on Camp Nou and with victories in the last 2 played on their pitch they are set as favorites here.

Espanyol acting similar to their opponents in this match, the 8th spot of the table for them with a total of 9 points, all of which obtained on home ground.

They lost all 3 matches played away so far in the new season of the Primera Division unable to score any goals and conceding no less than 8.

My pick:  Mallorca to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Derby match in the Spanish Primera Division on Saturday as giants Barcelona take on the current leaders Valencia on Camp Nou.

Not many would have anticipated so many surprises in this start of the Primera Division season with both giants Barcelona and Real Madrid losing points and struggling to advance in the table.

Their latest match of the league brought another shock with only a one all draw against Mallorca on home pitch nonetheless the oportunity emerges to grab a victory here and claim top spot.

Valencia’s season has been a great one so far with 5 victories and one draw in all 6 played landing them the top spot, 3 pointh ahead Barcelona and 2 above Real Madrid.

Perfect run for them in away matches with 3 victories in 3 played and a great form with only 2 goals conceded and no less than 7 scored.

My pick:  Barcelona to win ( under 2.5 goals )
