Primera Division table positions: Barcelona - 2, Vallecano - 10

A single match in the Spanish Primera Division on Tuesday as raining champions Barcelona take to the field against newly promoted Rayo Vallecano.

Barcelona suffered a painful defeat this weekend away to Getafe by the slightest of margins and in the process losing precious ground in their battle for the league trophy.

No less than six points separate them from bitter rivals Real Madrid in the Primera Division tale, an important gap that, by the look of things, will be very hard to fill.

Rayo Vallecano the clear underdogs of this game with a very challenging mission if they are to steal but one point from Barcelona. They are currently on an honorable 10th spot of the table but with a total of just 16 points they sit only 4 points above the relegation zone.

They managed only one points in their last two matches of the league, losing this weekend at home against Valencia. No better luck for them in away games thus  far as the team managed only one victory in the past

My pick:  Barcelona to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Serie A table positions: Real Madrid - 1, Atletico Madrid - 9

Spanish Primera Division on Saturday and the two giants take to the field, first, leaders Real Madrid will take on the local rival Atletico Madrid in a match that proved time after time to be spectacular.

Real Madrid continuing to trash every opponent in their path to the league trophy and the champions League glory, their latest victim being Dinamo Zagreb this week in a 6-2 scoreline game.

No less than 12 consecutive victories for Real in all competitions and the team looks unstoppable this season but with just three points above Barcelona in the standings, a derby such as the case with this one, is crucial.

Atletico Madrid on the other hand, is finding hard to catch it’s grip after a difficult season start, but latest results landed them a decent 9th spot in the table and a total of 16 points.

Although they managed four victories in their last 5 matches played, as far as away games is concerned, they managed to win just one of the past 8 played.

My pick:  Real Madrid to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Primera Division table positions: Sevilla - 5, Bilbao - 9

Round 12 of the Primera Division with Sevilla hosting Athletic Bilbao on Sunday for one of the most interesting fixtures of the day.

Sevilla is falling rapidly in the standings as they failed to win any of the last four games in the competitions, managing 3 draws and a defeat only to end up on the 5th spot of the table with a total of 18 points.

Similar situation for them in home matches, a two all draw against Santander and a painful 1-2 defeat against Granada in their last two played.

Athletic Bilbao on the other hand has a great morale after managing to grab one point from champions Barcelona in a two all spectacular draw last week.

They are currently on the 9th spot of the table with a total of just 14 points in all 11 played, due in part by their poor performances in away games.

My pick:  Sevilla to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Levante last 5 matches: drawdrawwindrawwin

Levante last 3 home matches: windrawwin

Valencia last 5 matches: windrawwinwinwin

Valencia last 3 away matches: winwinwin

Primera Division table positions: Levante - 9, Valencia - 2

With Barcelona trailing rivals Real Madrid by one point at the top of the table this trip to Athletic Bilbao more important that usual for the economy of the season.

Athletic Bilbao currently on the 9th spot of the table, a comfortable position for them as the team is used to this mid standing spot but their margin above the relegation zone is slim with only 5 points separating them from the danger zone.

Two victories for Athletic Bilbao in their last 3 games would make up for a good morale but against an adversary such as Barcelona they will probably play a defensive game hoping for a draw.

Barcelona still in the shadow of their great rival as they have a total of 24 points in 10 Primera Division games played and are separated by just one point from real Madrid with Valencia moving in to third with the same number of points but 11 games played.

Incredible streak for Barcelona, the team known for it’s offensive force has not conceded any goals in the past 9 fixtures played in all competition.

My pick:  Barcelona to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Primera Division table positions: Levante - 3, Valencia - 4

Last match of the day in the Primera Division as round 11 in under way, former leaders Levante welcoming Valencia for a very interesting fixture.

Levante suffered it’s first defeat of the season lat week away to Osasuna, 2-0 the final score leaving Barcelona and Real Madrid to profit and move above them in the table standings.

Great and also unexpected start of the season for Levante, this small team leading the way for no less than 10 rounds but with very though opposition ahead they will probably slide more to a more normal mid table position.

Valencia with a great chance of passing their rivals in this direct game as only two points separate the two sides, Valencia with an edge on morale and form.

Three consecutive victories for Valencia in latest matches, two in the Primera Division and a great one this week in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen.

My pick:  Valencia to win ( over 2.5 goals )
