Although seen as a good candidate for the top spot of the Serie A in the first part of the season, Lazio has suffered some damaging blows lately and cannot afford anything but a victory against Parma on Sunday.

Lazio managed only 2 victories in the last 5 matches played in the domestic league, both of them on home ground, losing all their away games.

They are now on the 5th spot of the table with a total of 54 points, 2 points short of 4th Udinese and with a 4 point advantage over rivals AS Roma.

Parma on the other hand is fighting hard to avoid relegation as the team managed a total of just 32 points in all 31 matches played, placing themselves only 2 points above the danger zone.

Only one victory for them in the last 10 matches played, 2 weeks ago away to Sampdoria but their prospects are not good with a series of though games to come.
