With both teams sharing the first 2 spots in Group A with 4 points in total a draw on Tuesday will see them through to the next round leaving hosts South Africa and the disappointing France out of the tournament.
Mexico had a hard time starting their campaign playing the first match against South Africa and ending it in a 1-1 draw, a positive result if we take into consideration the hostile atmosphere of a packed stadium.
Their second match against France brought them the first victory, a 2-0 thrashing of a very weak and unmotivated team which lead Mexico to stand very close to qualification.
Uruguay showed real talent in their first 2 matches, goalless draw against France and a superb 3-0 performance against host South Africa.
They look like the better team in this match but above all is the interest which will probably lead to a close game in which neither Mexico or Uruguay will take any chances.
