Sunday in the German Bundesliga with Schalke 04 attempting to jump a few spots and close the gap from current leaders with this match against newly promoted Augsburg.

Schalke 04 currently on the 5th spot of the table with a total of 25 points in all 14 played. They sit just four points below leaders Dortmund but feeling the pressure from Bayer Leverkusen after their Friday win.

Two victories for them in their last 3 played, including this weeks’s win over Steaua Bucharest that granted them access in the next phase of Europa League. Nevertheless their form seems to alternate and Schalke’s main problem seems to be the defensive compartment.

Augsburg seems destined for a quick return to the 2nd league of Germany as they are on the last spot of the chart with just 11 points managed in all 14 games played.

Their last week surprising victory over Wolfsburg certainly gave them a good morale boost and with only 3 points separating them from the safe zone, Augsburg still retains chances.

With round 13 underway in the Italian Serie A, Juventus continues it’s bid for the league trophy with a good chance for all 3 points as they welcome struggling Cesena.

After it’s Saturday game, AC Milan managed to overpower Juventus in the standings and take top spot with one point advantage.

Juventus has a great opportunity to reclaim their leader’s position and although they managed just a 3 all draw last week against Napoli, their overall form is great with superb play and results on home ground so far.

Cesena, on the other hand, started the season with high expectation but with very little to show so far they ended up on a relegation 19th spot with a total of just 9 points in all 12 games played.

A steep rise in form for them as they managed to win their last two matches in the Serie A against Bologna and Genoa with the addition of the Copa Italia victory managed this week.

Spain’s Primera Division kicking off a new round on Saturday and a very interesting fixture as Barcelona welcome former leaders Levante on Nou Camp.

Barcelona currently trailing Real Madrid by 3 points but with a match more than their opponents the real gap is a considerable six points, not yet decisive but very hard to fill.

They managed a clear victory this week as they hosted Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday, 4-0 the final score making Barcelona clear favorites against a struggling Levante team.

Levante has a surprising start to this season, managing to lead the table for a number of rounds, but with 3 defeats in their last four games played, the drop was steep, landing them a current 4th spot in the Primera Division table with a total of 26 points.

Even if they lose this game, Levante has a 3 point advantage over next in line Malaga and will keep it’s place due to the superior goal balance but unlikely as it seems, a victory against Barcelona can make them advance over Valencia.

This weekend there are four live matches from the Premiership with two matches to look forward to on Saturday and one on both Sunday and Monday and with four of the top six in action in these matches and three of the bottom six also involved there are plenty of important matches to feast our eyes on and to bet on this weekend.

The early kick off on Saturday will be shown on Sky Sports 2 and features Newcastle and Chelsea, the fourth and fifth best teams according to the league table currently. That means that Newcastle are overperforming and Chelsea are definitely underperforming and with Newcastle also holding home advantage on Saturday they have a great chance of increasing their advantage over Chelsea to four points. Newcastle are so far unbeaten at home whilst Chelsea have so far won only half their league games on the road. Newcastle should be getting at least a point from this match and with a draw looking as likely as a home win Newcastle should be backed at 4/5 with a one goal head start, meaning anything but a Chelsea win is a winning bet.

The late kick off on Saturday on ESPN will be Aston Villa and Man Utd and both sides will be disappointed with some of their results recently. Man Utd have only managed to win half of their last six league games whilst Aston Villa have lost half of theirs and won just once in that time period. Aston Villa have only lost once at home this season and are likely to set themselves up to be hard to beat whilst Man Utd just don’t seem to be firing on all cylinders. The two most likely winning bets in this match are the draw at 14/5 and Man Utd to win by a one goal margin at 11/4 (Man Utd haven’t won a league match by more than that in two months) and you can pick which you prefer from those two bets.

On Sunday just one game is being televised and that is a potential relegation six pointer being shown on Sky Sports 1. The bookies make Mick McCarthy and Steve Bruce two of the most insecure managers in the league so defeat in this match for either could easily cost them their jobs, especially with both teams hovering of the relegation zone on eleven points. Sunderland have been in slightly better form but have still only picked up five points from six games and this game looks very difficult to call from a result perspective. What does look likely though is a lack of goals, Wolves and Sunderland are both amongst the lowest scorers in the league and under 2.5 goals could be the safest play in this match at 5/6, it could easily end up goalless.

Monday Night Football returns this week with Fulham hosting Liverpool on Sky Sports 1 and this could be a very interesting encounter. Fulham are one of the hardest teams to predict in the league, as shown by their draw at Arsenal last week, whilst Liverpool showed that they are still a match for the best sides by picking up a well deserved point at home to Man City last time out. Fulham have only lost two home games this season and in one of those played very well against Spurs. Liverpool have drawn four of their last six league games and a draw looks very likely in this match and can be backed at 12/5 at the time of writing.

Start of round no 15 in the German Bundesliga on Friday with Bayer Leverkusen welcoming Hoffenheim for what is expected to be a close and challenging match.

Bayer Leverkusen currently on the 6th spot of the Bundesliga table with a total of 22 points in all 14 games played and a goal balance of just +1.

They managed only a 3 all draw last week away to Hertha BSC, ending up seven points below leaders and champions Borussia Dortmund but with intense pressure from it’s followers.

Hoffenheim is experiencing a though phase as they failed to win any of their last four game played, falling in consequence to the 9th position in the chart with a total of 18 points.

No better luck for them in away matches as they lost their past three matches against reputable adversaries, scoring only one goal whilst conceding seven.
