Crucial match for Bayern Munchen as they welcome Bundesliga leaders Mainz 05 on Saturday in the hope that their recent results are a sign for the team’s ascension in the table.

Bayern Munchen ended a 3 match period of no wins with a very good victory away to Hoffenheim this Tuesday. The game was hard one especially as Hoffenheim took the lead in the first minute of play but Bayern overthrow the result in the second half and scored in the 90′ minute to take all 3 points.

They are currently on the 8th spot of the table with 8 points in total. Far from their expectations nonetheless but determined to win against the leaders and boost their confidence.

After the 2-0 victory over Koln this week, Mainz held on the the top spot in the Bundesliga but it’s predictable they will fall dramatically in the next round with opponents such as Bayern Munchen, Hoffenheim, Hamburger SV, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.

The only team that can take their spot in case of a loss of draw is Borussia Dortmund, but they have a difficult trip as well.

My pick:  Bayern Munchen to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Raining champions Bayern Munchen have a very though match on their hands this Saturday when they welcome Koln.

Bayern is in desperate need of points as they sit only on the 11th spot of the Bundesliga table with 4 points in 3 matches played.

They will certainly want to capitalize on their morale boosting victory this week against AS Roma in the champions league and grab their second victory in the league.

FC Koln with a hesitant start to the new season as they lost to Kaiserslautern and Werder Bremen in the first to round only to grab a much needed victory against Saint Pauli by the slightest of margins.

Their weakest point is no doubt their defense as the team conceded no less than 7 goals in the first 2 matches played.

My pick:  Bayern Munchen to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Group E of the Champions league kicks off this Wednesday with a very exciting match between Bundesliga champions Bayern Munchen and Serie A runners-up AS Roma.

Although their season debut was was ecstatic with a victory in the Super Cup against Schalke 04 and a late goal to bring them 3 points against Wolfsburg in the first leg of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munchen lost ground as they lost surprisingly away to Kaiserslautern and ended in a goalless draw against Werder Bremen last week.

Hopes are high for them in the Champions league as they are the runners-up of the competition last year and the team is in desperate need of a morale boosting performance for the though games ahead.

AS Roma’s season so far is disastrous, the team managed only one point in the Serie A in 3 matches played and more worrying conceded no less than 8 goals while scoring only 2.

It seems their main weak point is the defense and with a match away to Bayern they will try to focus more on this by closing all paths to the goal.

My pick:  Bayern Munchen to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Victorious in their first matches of the new season in the Bundesliga bot Kaiserslautern and Bayern Munchen are looking to continue their trend this Friday.

Kaiserslautern as a newly promoted team to the Bundesliga had a great start to the season with a 1-3 victory away to FC Koln where they showed great morale and managed to turn around the scoreline in the last 20 minutes of play.

Against a team like Bayern Munchen they will always be the underdogs but that will not make the opposition side have a easy match by all means with a fanatic support in the crowds.

Bayern Munchen dominated the first part in the match with Wolfsburg and they where set for a easy win until the 55′ minute when Dzeko changed everything.

Bastian Schweinsteiger grabbed the winning goal in extra time and lifted up Bayern’s morale for this match. The champions still show great gaps in defense only to compensate with great play in the middle.

My pick:  Draw ( over 2.5 goals )

Debut match of the 2010-2011 season in the German Bundesliga with the raining champions Bayern Munchen welcoming Wolfsburg for the only match on Friday.

A superb season for Bayern Munchen as they managed to overcome the poor start and claim the champions title in the Bundesliga, the DFB Pokal and reach the Champions League final where they lost the ultimate trophy against Inter.

Certainly these performances will bring pressure on the players and staff for this new year along with the confidence that they can repeat and improve as their first official match of the season brought the Super up trophy with a 2-0 performance against Schalke 04.

The 2008-2009 champions, Wolfsburg could not keep up last season and ended up on a very disappointing 8th spot of the Bundesliga table after a very modest performance throughout.

Their only official match this year brought a 1-2 victory over a virtually unknown team in the DFB Pokal although they showed off their best 11 but finished at a very tight score managing the victory late in the game.

My pick:  Bayern Munchen to win ( over 2.5 goals )
