Last match in Serie A’s round 18 and the only one to be played on Monday as  Napoli hosts Bologna, each team with a different goal in mind.

Napoli is currently on the 6th spot of the table with a modest total of 27 points, they have a two points deficit from 5th Inter and three from 4th in line Lazio.

Their form is on the rise as they managed three straight victories in latest matches but achieving even a spot in Europa League at the end of the season will take a lot of effort with so many teams fighting at the top.

Bologna on the other hand is on a disappointing 17th spot of the Serie A table with just 18 points gathered in all 17 played but still a 6points safety net from the relegation zone.

Their 2-0 victory over Catania last week has given Bologna a good morale boost but hopes are few for a positive result against Napoli especially with such a poor defense.

The third round in the Serie A kick off on Thursday with Juventus welcoming Bologna among the 8 games of the day.

Juventus with a perfect start to the new season as they sit on the second spot of the table with 6 points in their two matches played against Parma and Siena.

It’s fair to say that their opponents have not been from the top of the charts but such adversaries may bring much needed morale for Juventus as they strive to lift above the poor form showed in the past few years.

Bologna on the other hand suffered two defeats in this start of the season and now place on the 19th spot with no points won and a goal balance of -4, the worst of all teams so far.

They lost in similar fashion as both games ended with a 2-0 scoreline but even if their defeat away to Fiorentina was expected, their latest result against Lecce on home ground was rather surprising.

Losing a lot of ground lately, Juventus welcome Bologna on Saturday for what seems to be a difficult game but a very important one for both teams.

Juventus lost 3 matches in the last 5 played in the Serie A, ending up on the 7th spot of the table with a total of 41 points. they are still in arm’s reach of an Europa League spot but as far as Champions League goes, their chances are slim.

Two weeks ago they managed a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan but this result was quickly forgotten as they suffered a painful defeat away to Lecce last week.

Bologna, currently mid table with a total of 34 points, is in a comfortable position for their aspirations, no longer threaten by relegation but far from any European tournament spot for the next season.

Only 2 victories for Bologna in away matches so far in all 13 played coped with an awful goal balance of 13 scored and no less than 25 conceded.
