Mallorca last 3 home matches: drawwinwin

Espanyol last 5 league matches: lostwinlostwinlost

Espanyol last 3 away match: lostlostlost

Table positions: Mallorca -9 , Espanyol -8

Mallorca home table position: -4

Espanyol away table position: -20

Six matches in the Spanish Primera Division on Sunday with Mallorca versus Espanyol one of the most balanced kicking off.

Mallorca following the trail sen in the last season with very good performances on home pitch and a great deal of points lost away to modest rivals.

They head into this game with a strong morale after being able to hold Barcelona to a one all draw last week on Camp Nou and with victories in the last 2 played on their pitch they are set as favorites here.

Espanyol acting similar to their opponents in this match, the 8th spot of the table for them with a total of 9 points, all of which obtained on home ground.

They lost all 3 matches played away so far in the new season of the Primera Division unable to score any goals and conceding no less than 8.

My pick:  Mallorca to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Almeria last 3 away match: lostdrawdraw

Table positions: Espanyol -12 , Almeria -14

Espanyol home table position: -4

Almeria away table position: -9

With 2 matches already played in the spectacular Spanish Primera Division, both Espanyol and Almeria are in the lower part of the table separated by one point.

Espanyol had a good start to the new campaign with a 3-1 victory over a very difficult Getafe but lost ground last week when they where trashed away to Villarreal, 4-0 the final score.

The team seems to continue last year’s trend, alternating good performances on home ground with painful losses in away matches.

Although their opponents so far have not been top calls, Almeria managed only a goalless draw away to Osasuna, a positive outcome on a difficult pitch, but lost 2 points home against Real Sociedad as the game finished 2-2.

Their last victory away in the Primera Division dates from February this year with 4 losses and 3 draws since.

My pick:  Espanyol to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Mallorca last 3 home matches: windrawlost

Espanyol last 5 league matches: windrawlostlostwin

Espanyol last 3 away matches: lostwinlost

Table positions: Mallorca- 5, Espanyol - 11

Mallorca home table position: 3

Espanyol away table position: 18

Fifth spot holders Mallorca are pushing for a victory against Espanyol in the hope that Sevilla will stumble against Almeria and their road to the Champions League preliminaries will be paved.

Mallorca seem to experience the fatigue after a long season with a clear plunge in results lately as they lost the last 2 matches in the Spanish Primera Division. They have assured themselves a spot in next season’s European tournament and with a victory here and a stroke of luck that competition could be the UCL.

They are one of the strongest teams in the tournament by home play, only below giants Barcelona and Real Madrid but managing only 1 point from the last 2 against Malaga and Real Madrid bringing their statistic to 14 victories and 1 draws in 18 played.

Espanyol sits comfortably mid table with a total of 44 points, no aspirations for them in advancing and no threats to relegate. A modest season all together but one in which their hopes and aspirations where fulfilled.

Away play is not their strongest point by any means with just 2 victories and 5 draws in 18 matches played whilst traveling and a goal ratio that shows only 9 goals scored and no less than 27 conceded.

My pick:  Mallorca to win

Espanyol – Barcelona 17 April 2010

EspanyolBetting tips soccerBarcelona

Espanyol last 5 league matches:drawdrawdrawwinlost

Espanyol last 3 home matches: windrawwin

Barcelona last 5 league matches: winwinwinwinwin

Barcelona last 3 away matches: winwinwin

Table positions: Espanyol - 14, Barcelona - 1

Espanyol home table position: 10

Barcelona away table position: 1

A match eagerly expected by both Espanyol and Barcelona on Saturday a local derby proven over the years to be very spectacular and unpredictable.

Espanyol has had a though season so far and now stand only on the 14th spot of the Primera Division table and with a total of 37 points just 8 over the relegation zone. The team has won only one match in the past 5 played with a superb display of force on home ground against Atletico Madrid 3-0 but failed grab any points from their trip to Racing Santander in the last round.

They have a decent statistic on home ground when comparing to their disastrous display in away matches with 8 victories and 5 draws in 16 matches played in front of their supporters.

Barcelona flying high in both competition in which they are still involved and now top the Primera Division standings with 6 points advantage over Real Madrid as they have a game more played than their bitter rivals.

They are clear favorites in getting all the points from this one and adding another victory to their current record of 7 straight especially as they have the best statistic in away matches of all teams in the competitions with no less than 11 victories and 4 draws in 16 played accompanied by a superb goal ratio of 34 scored and 10 conceded.

My pick: Barcelona to win

Real MadridBetting tips soccerEspanyol

Real Madrid last 5 league matches:  draw win lost win win

Real Madrid last 3 home matches:  win winwin

Espanyol last 5 league matches:  lost win lost draw win

Espanyol last 3 away matches: lost lost lost

Table positions: Real Madrid -2, Espanyol -14

Real Madrid home table position: 1

Espanyol away table position: 17

A match in the Spanish Primera Division that at first glance should go only one way with Real Madrid as clear favorite against Espanyol this Saturday.

Real Madrid 5 points short of leaders Barcelona in the table and with a total of 47 points much improvement is needed in away matches if they are to close the gap.

Their second position is secured with an important 8 point advantage from third Valencia, they are far from aspirations and the pressure is high for the ultimate trophy in Spanish football. On home pitch their record is perfect with 10 victories in 10 played and a very good goal ratio showing no less than 32 scored and only 6 conceded.

Espanyol is struggling in the lower part of the standings with only 23 points in total, 6 advantage from the first team in the relegation zone but seeing an important improvement both in results and in form lately with 2 victories in the last 5 matches played and another point obtained against Mallorca on home ground.

In away matches their situation is disastrous with one of the poorest statistic of all teams in the competition, joust one victory early in the season coupled with 2 points from draws in all 9 played and losing the previous 5 to date.

My pick: Real Madrid to win
