The Italian Super Cup ahead of the new season will kick off on Saturday in Beijing with raining champions AC Milan welcoming Coppa Italia holders and bitter rivals Internazionale.

Ac Milan with a slight edge in this game as most bookies see them favorites after a very good season that culminated with the trophy and the fact that they have won the past two matches against Inter.

Although their friendly match campaign started promising enough, Milan failed to win the last two against Bayern Munchen and Internacional of Brazil, both at the penalty shoot-out after draws in regular time.

Inter finished second in last season of the Serie A with a 6 point gap from their rivals but managed to win the Coppa Italia in a final against Palermo.

This will be regarded certainly as a good opportunity for Internazionale to was away the latest direct match confrontation against their rivals and get an important morale boost for the upcoming season.

Inter is on the second spot in the Serie A with a total of 69 points, no less than 8 points handicap from leaders AC Milan and their only realistic objective remains to stay one step above third Napoli which are just one point bellow.

Fiorentina on the other hand is mid table after a modest season. They totaled 49 points and the current 9th spot, far from any European tournament seats.

Two victories for them in the last 2 round have boosted their morale but in a trip to Inter few have a chance of getting a good result.

Interesting fixture in the upper part of the Serie A table with Internazionale Milan welcoming Lazio for a match that can lead to a switch in positions.

Inter with some disappointing results lately especially in away matches where they failed to win the last 3 played in the Serie A, now on the 3rd spot and only 3 points above their current rivals Lazio.

As far as home matches go, they have the best statistic in the entire league with 12 victories and 3 draws in all 16 played and a good goal balance of 40 scored whilst conceding 17.

Lazio on the other hand with some good results lately, managing 3 victories in their last 4 played in the Serie A, managing to overcome Udinese and hold the 4th spot with a one point advantage.

Their record in away matches so far is rather poor as they managed to win only 6 times whilst losing no less than 7 in all 16 played.

After their surprising victory in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final, Schalke is favorite for qualifying against the trophy holders Inter.

Having got a 3 goal advantage in the superb 2-5 victory on Giuseppe Meazza, Schalke 04 is clearly favorite in getting trough to the next round of the UCL.

Great results lately for the team that not long ago was threaten by relegation, no less than 5 victories in the last 6 matches played in all competition making Schalke rise to the 9th spot of the Bundesliga and ready to produce yet another surprise in Europe.

Inter with little or no chances for this qualification as Schalke could close the game from the first minute and defend their advantage.

They managed to get a victory over Chievo last week in the Serie A but their game was far from good with both of their goals in the last part of the match.

With 2 defeats in their last matches, Internazionale Milan is in desperate need of a victory against Chievo if they are to remain in the battle for the Serie A trophy.

Inter suffered 2 major blows, first in the derby match against rivals AC Milan last week and a second one this week in the Champions League when they where defeated by Schalke 04 with a 2-5 scoreline, making their chances of advancing in the competition very slim.

As far as home ground is concerned, their statistic looks very good this season with 11 victories and 3 draws in all 15 played in the Serie A and a good goal balance of 38 scored and 17 conceded.

Chievo on the other hand is in the lower part of the standings, 13th spot and a total of just 36 points, only 6 above the relegation zone in all 31 matches played.

Not many hopes for them when looking at the away record either with only 4 victories and no less than 7 defeats in all 15 played and a negative goal ratio of 18 scored and 21 conceded.
