End of the road for the 2009-2010 season in the French Ligue 1 with this last round playing out on Saturday and Olympique Lyon in desperate need of a victory to grab their spot for the Champions League against an already relegated Le Mans.

Lyon’s form has taken an important plunge in the last part of the season and the team has only 2 victories in the last 5 matches played in the competition, really complicating their position and in case of a negative result here they can end up with only and Europa League spot.

Not even the home ground form remained untouched as they ended 2 of the last 3 matches played in draws leaving them with 11 victories and 4 draws in 18 played.

This should be a really relaxed trip for Le Mans, no real motivation for them other than prestige as they have a total of 32 points and are already relegated.

They have one of the poorest records for away play of all teams in the Ligue 1 as they managed only 2 victories and 2 draws losing the rest of 14 and achieving a disastrous goal ratio of 14 scored and no less than 32 conceded.

It’s incredible how things can change at the top of the French Ligue 1, in only one month, Bordeaux from the best candidate to claim another title of champions has fallen to the 5th spot and now even a participation in the Champions League is a difficult task.

Le Mans is left with little to play for as the season gets to it’s final rounds, with a total of just 22 points and only above last Grenoble, nothing can save them from an encounter with the second league in France.

No victories for them in the last 6 rounds from which they claimed only 2 points in draws with Grenoble and more surprising title contenders Montpellier last week but there is nothing in the statistic to suggest them as fierce opponents with only 4 victories and 6 draws in 16 matches played on home ground and the lack of any motivation except prestige.

With only one victory in the past 5 matches of the Ligue 1 football championship, Bordeaux is now on the 5th spot of the table with a total of 56 points, but 2 less matches played than their main competitors and one from the Current leaders Olympique Marseille.

Their main problem is the form displayed recently, except the home match against Lyon in the Champions League which they won 1-0 but failed to qualify further, the team has showed little signs of recovery or changes in played football. They have failed to win any of the past 3 matches played whilst traveling but still maintain a decent away statistic with 7 victories and 2 draws in 14 played but real problems in defense as they conceded no less than 17 goal, scoring 19.

With both of these teams destined for the Ligue 2 in France this seems like a match for 6 points if one of them manages a victory as Boulogne welcomes Le Mans on Saturday.

Only 16 points for Boulogne so far in the championship with no less than 23 matches played and salvation from the relegation zone lies 7 points away. A though mission to accomplish given the team’s overall performances and results.

No victory for them in the last 9 matches played in the Ligue 1, the last one dating back early December against Lens and only 4 points gathered since.Their home statistic is terrible with only 2 victories to date and 2 points in 2 draws losing the rest of 7 with a goal ratio of 10 scored and 21 conceded.

Le Mans does not look better, only one point above their adversaries and a string of 7 matches without victory in the domestic league, managing to gather only 2 points in tows, the last one against Sochaux last week.

They have the worst statistic of all in away matches with 11 defeats in as many games played and an embarrassing goal ratio that reveals only 5 scored and 22 conceded.
