Start of the 8th Finals in the Spanish Copa del Rey on Tuesday with Real Madrid hosting the first of the two leg knock-out against Malaga in the last match of the day.

Real Madrid the clear favorite for the victory here and a strong opponent to Barcelona this season for the trophy. The two giants are set to go head to head in the next round if all goes to plan and the winner will most likely take the Copa del Rey trophy home.

Three straight victories fro Real Madrid before the short winter break and a good morale as they lead in the Primera Division table should make for an accessible match on their own pitch.

Malaga, although experiencing major changes last summer, has failed to impress so far this season as they stand on a modest 9th spot of the Primera Division.

They made it into this stage of the Copa del Rey by passing a difficult opponent in the past stage, a victory by the slightest of margins against Getafe on home field followed by a two all draw away.

My pick: Real Madrid to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Granada last 5 matches: winwindrawwinloss

Closing match of the second round in the Spanish Primera Division and the only one to be played on Monday as Malaga welcomes Granada.

Although Malaga managed some good results in the summer’s friendly matches they ended up losing in the opening game of the league, 2-1 away to Sevilla.

They are clear favorites against a newly promoted team and a victory will boost their morale for the though road ahead.

Granada as a new team arrived in the first league will certainly try and rise above the relegation line but in comparison with their opponents they look as the best candidate to relegate.

Their first match brought the first painful defeat as Real Betis managed to score a late goal and grab all 3 points.

My pick:  Malaga to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Malaga last 5 league matches: lostdrawwinwinwin

Malaga last 3 away match: winlostwin

Table positions: Atletico -5, Malaga -15

Atletico home table position: -9

Malaga away table position: -8

Last 4 round in the Spanish Primera Division and Atletico Madrid is in the books for a spot in next season’s of Europa League but in need of a victory Saturday against Malaga.

Atletico Madrid, currently 5th in the league table with a total of 52 points, same number as Sevilla which face a growling task this weeknd against Real Madrid.

Fine form for them in latest games as they managed 4 victories in the last 5 played in the competition giving them a much needed morale boost for the though weeks to come.

Malaga itself rising steadily in the ranks after 3 consecutive victories, they are now on the 15th spot of the chart but with just a narrow 2 point advantage over the relegation line.

Fairly decent statistic for them in away matches for a competition such as Primera Division with Malaga managing 5 victories and 3 draws in all 17 played, downside is their awful negative goal balance of 21 scored and no less than 38 conceded.

My pick:  Atletico Madrid to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Real MadridBetting tips soccerMalaga

Real last 3 home matches:winwinwin

Malaga last 3 away match: lostdrawdraw

Table positions: Real -2, Malaga -19

Real home table position: -1

Malaga away table position: -9

It’s become quite clear that after last week’s results in the Primera Division, Real Madrid’s chances for the trophy are very small but a clear victory against Malaga on Thursday may restore some of their confidence.

Real Madrid now trailing rivals Barcelona by no less than 7 points after they where held to a goalless draw last week by Deportivo La Coruna.

They still maintain a perfect record on home ground with 12 victories in all 12 played with an intimidating goal ratio for anyone as they scored no less than 37 and conceded only 6.

Malaga is one of the clear candidates to relegate this season, but the battle at the bottom is far from over as they stand on the 19th spot of the table with a total of 23 points, just 2 points from safety.

Their away statistic this season in the Primera is as expected a modest one with 3 victories and 3 draws in all 13 played and a -11 in goal ratio, although striking with a high goal scored count of no less than 16, unusual for a team in their position.

My pick:  Real Madrid to win ( over 3.5 goals )

GetafeBetting tips soccerMalaga

Getafe last 5 league matches: winwinlostwindraw

Getafe last 3 home matches: drawwinwin

Malaga last 5 league matches: lostdrawlostwinlost

Malaga last 3 away match: drawlostwin

Table positions: Getafe -12 , Malaga -14

Juventus home table position: -6

Malaga away table position: -6

Only 3 matches taking place on Thursday in the Primera Division intermediary round, among them Getafe welcoming Malaga the first.

Although with only 4 points and the 12 spot of the table so far, Getafe is not looking so bad, as in previous season they are alternating good performances at home with poorer displays in away games.

After losing the debut round away to Espanyol, 3-1 the final score, Getafe managed a superb 4-1 victory over newly promoted Levante and ended in a 2 all draw last week in a very difficult trip to Deportivo La Coruna.

Malaga encountered very though opposition in the start of the new season with losses against Valencia and Sevilla but still managed 3 point in their trip to Real Zaragoza.

One fact wort mentioned is that they manage to score in all 3 matches so far although their defense seems to be the weakest point.

My pick:  Getafe to win ( over 2.5 goals )
