The Italian Serie A is back in action this weekend with two matches to be played on Saturday, last of them Internazionale hosting Parma.

Inter is looking forward to continue their rise in the table as they are currently on the 5th spot of the chart with a total of 26 points, no less than 8 from leaders AC Milan and Juventus.

They managed to stop their downward spiral that lead them to the relegation zone in the beginning of the season and with four straight victories before the short winter break, Inter looks back in business even though they have a huge deficit to fill.

Parma is the underdog of this fixture as they stand on a disappointing 13th spot of the Serie A chart with a total of just 19 points in all 16 matches played, seven points above the relegation zone.

No victories in their last six matches played, with the last four ending in draws against fairly modest opponents and no victories in away games since October.

Lazio – Parma 10 April 2010

Although seen as a good candidate for the top spot of the Serie A in the first part of the season, Lazio has suffered some damaging blows lately and cannot afford anything but a victory against Parma on Sunday.

Lazio managed only 2 victories in the last 5 matches played in the domestic league, both of them on home ground, losing all their away games.

They are now on the 5th spot of the table with a total of 54 points, 2 points short of 4th Udinese and with a 4 point advantage over rivals AS Roma.

Parma on the other hand is fighting hard to avoid relegation as the team managed a total of just 32 points in all 31 matches played, placing themselves only 2 points above the danger zone.

Only one victory for them in the last 10 matches played, 2 weeks ago away to Sampdoria but their prospects are not good with a series of though games to come.

Roma – Parma 27 February 2010

Round 27 in the Serie A with the vast majority of matches kicking off on Sunday including AS Roma’s game against Parma.

Roma took quite a tumble with 3 defeats and one draw in the last 5 matches played, managing to restore some confidence last week with a victory by the slightest of margins away to Bologna.

Their statistic on home pitch in the Serie A this season is decent with 8 victories and 3 draws in all 12 played and a very good goal balance scoring 21 goals whilst conceding 10.

Parma has failed to win any of their last 5 matches played in the competition, ending up on a dangerous 15th spot, with only 4 points from the relegation zone.

Parma’s away record is very poor with only 2 victories and no less than 8 defeats in all 12 played and a goal ratio of 12 scored and 26 conceded.

One of two matches taking place in the Italian Serie A this Saturday with leaders AC Milan welcoming Parma after a series of modest results in the competition.

AC Milan is still in the driver’s seat of the competition but has lost ground due to their poor performancess and large number of matches finished undecided.

No victories for them in the last 2 matches played as they where held to draws by Lazio and Genoa leading to a fairly modest home statistic for a competition such as Serie A.

Parma is in the lower part of the table and their only ambition for this season seems to be to avoid relegation. Only 4 points separate them from Brescia and the first spot of the danger zone making every point for them crucial.

They where defeated in the last 2 matches played away in the competition and the statistic shows only 2 victories and 2 draws in all 11 played on foreign ground this season.
