Serie A table positions: Real Madrid - 1, Atletico Madrid - 9

Spanish Primera Division on Saturday and the two giants take to the field, first, leaders Real Madrid will take on the local rival Atletico Madrid in a match that proved time after time to be spectacular.

Real Madrid continuing to trash every opponent in their path to the league trophy and the champions League glory, their latest victim being Dinamo Zagreb this week in a 6-2 scoreline game.

No less than 12 consecutive victories for Real in all competitions and the team looks unstoppable this season but with just three points above Barcelona in the standings, a derby such as the case with this one, is crucial.

Atletico Madrid on the other hand, is finding hard to catch it’s grip after a difficult season start, but latest results landed them a decent 9th spot in the table and a total of 16 points.

Although they managed four victories in their last 5 matches played, as far as away games is concerned, they managed to win just one of the past 8 played.

My pick:  Real Madrid to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Serie A table positions: Real Madrid - 2, Villarreal - 16

Intermediary round in the Primera Division with Real Madrid climbing to the second spot of the table as they welcome Villarreal on Wednesday.

Real Madrid took full advantage of the draw between Barcelona and Sevilla in the weekend and by trashing Malaga, 0-4 the final score, managed to overcome their bitter rivals and place second in the chart, one point below surprising leaders Levante.

No less than six straight victories for Real in latest matches, played both in the Primera division and the Champions League giving them a huge moral advantage for this one, especially as it will be played at home.

Villarreal on the other hand is far form the past season’s performances as they struggle in the lower part of the table with a total of just 7 points in 8 played, only two above the relegation zone.

No victories for Villarreal in their past 6 matches, totaling 3 defeats and 3 draws, a very poor performance for a team used to the top spots in Spain.

My pick:  Real Madrid to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Group D table positions: Real Madrid - 1, Lyon - 2

Champions League is back with the third round in the Group stage and a classic duel in the competition as Real Madrid welcome Olympique Lyon in Group D.

Real Madrid showing a splendid form in recent matches, managing to win their last 4 played. They are top of this Group D with a maximum of 6 points in 2 played and trailing Barcelona by just one point in the Primera Division.

They defeated Dinamo Zagreb in the opening stage by the slightest of margins only to trash Ajax Amsterdam in the latest with a 3-0 scoreline.

Lyon second in the charts with 4 points gathered in their two games played, a goalless draw away to Ajax and a 2-0 victory at home over outsiders Dinamo Zagreb.

Only one victory in their last 6 matches played away is clearly something to worry, but in the past few years Lyons has become quite an authority in dealing with the mighty Real Madrid.

My pick:  Real Madrid to win ( under 2.5 goals )

  • Draw (8%, 1 Votes)
  • Olympique Lyon (7%, 1 Votes)

Table positions: Espanyol - 12, Real Madrid - 5

Seemingly a though match ahead for Real Madrid on Sunday as they travel to Espanyol in the 6th round of the Primera Division.

Espanyol with a modest start to the new season managing 6 points in the first 5 matches played placing the team on the 12th spot of the table with a -2 in goal balance.

They managed to win both matches played on home ground in the league so far, against Athletic Bilbao and Getafe but lost all 3 played away making for quite a dramatic difference in results.

Real Madrid currently on the 5th spot of the Primera Division table with a total of 10 points, two below leaders Real Betis and one from bitter rivals Barcelona.

Although it was expected that the two football giants Barcelona and Real Madrid would dominate the competition from beginning to end, it looks line neither has managed to separate from the pack either in terms of results or even play.

My pick:  Real Madrid to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Second round in the Champions League group stage with a very interesting fixture between Real Madrid and Ajax Amsterdam, two of the emblematic teams of modern football.

Real Madrid leading Group D after grabbing all 3 points two weeks ago in their trip to Dinamo Zagreb and with a good morale after trashing Rayo Vallecano Saturday, 6-2 the final score.

They are clear favorites for this match especially for the home ground advantage but their form is not consistent in this start of the season alternating between great matches and surprising poor results.

Ajax Amsterdan with only one point in this Group D of the UCL after finishing in a goalless draw against Lyon in the opening match.

A very though group for them as Lyon and Real Madrid are expected to grab the top spots leaving Ajax to battle for the third spot against Dinamo Zagreb.

My pick:  Real Madrid to win ( over 2.5 goals )
