Very interesting match on Monday in the Spanish Primera Division as Sevilla and Valencia will close round 10 of the competition.

Sevilla is showing signs of recovery with it’s form improving in the latest matches as they managed 4 victories in the last 5 played in all competition but has yet to improve in the Primera Division standings.

Only the 8th spot for them so far and although they are showing great football on home ground they are losing valuable points in away matches.

After holding on to the top spot of the charts in the start of the season, Valencia now felt to the 4th position as they where surpassed by giants Real Madrid and Barcelona with the surprising Villarreal as the latest addition to the top spots fight.

No victories for them in the last 3 matches played in the competition but a great morale boosting victory this week against Rangers in the Champions League.

Very interesting match in the Spanish Primera Division on Saturday and one that can prove decisive when the season closes as raining champions Barcelona welcome Sevilla.

Barcelona picking up speed after a modest start with 4 victories in the last 5 matches of the league but still trailing Real Madrid by 1 point in the table.

Easy victory for them in the Copa del Rey this week against Ceuta just what they needed to take on a very though opponent as Sevilla is.

Sevilla is still struggling to climb up the charts as they managed only 14 points in the first 8 matches played in the Primera Division but still showing great gaps in defense proven by the 11 goals conceded.

Poor form and results for them in away matches so far as they lost their last 2 trips of the competition to Hercules and Sporting Gijon.

My pick:  Barcelona to win ( over 2.5 goals )

Separated by only one point in the Spanish Primera Division Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao will provide one of the most interesting fixtures on Sunday.

With no less than seven round of the league already played, Sevilla had a hesitant start to the season and with a total of just 11 points they are on a disappointing 7th spot.

Their main problem seems to be their offensive as they managed to score only 10 goals and things look similar on home pitch where their goal differential shows only 6 scored but an encouraging 2 conceded.

Athletic Bilbao trailing Sevilla by only one points with a similar form as their opponents as they managed only 2 victories in the last 6 played and 3 in total.

They seem to concede many goals but focus on a very defensive game whilst playing away leading me to believe they will do the same here.

My pick:  Sevilla to win ( under 2.5 goals )

Return leg in the Champions League final qualifying round and Sevilla welcomes Sporting Braga starting from a one goal deficit.

With mounting pressure on the team, Sevilla desperately needs a victory in this match as the access to the Champions League groups will bring them much needed confidence for the season ahead.

They lost the first trophy of the season as they where defeated by Barcelona in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup 4-0 making the aggregate score 5-3 for the Catalans.

Sporting Braga confirmed their good for in the last season when they finished second in the Portuguese Liga and eliminated Celtic in the previous round of the UCL with a conclusive victory at home and and a defeat by the slightest of margins away.

The team managed to gather 4 points in the first 2 matches of the new domestic league season but it still showing problems in away matches.

Two team going through some though phases in this part of this season and Sevilla especially losing ground fast as they miss the sweet taste of victory for some time now. A new opportunity emerges for the to break this streak as Teneriffe is in a bad shape itself.

Sevilla has ended up on the 5th spot of the table with no victories in the last 6 matches played, losing touch with 3rd Valencia and showing a total of just 45 points, same as 6th Athletic Bilbao but with a better goal ratio than the opposition.

Their only hope of claiming a Champions League spot is the 4th place currently occupied by Mallorca 2 points distance  but in light of recent results even this seems to be a hard task. All last 3 matches on home ground where ended in draws with Bilbao, Deportivo la Coruna but more surprisingly against last spot holders in the Primera Division, Deportivo Xerez bringing the record to 7 victories and 6 draws in 15 played.

Tenerife first under the relegation line with a total of 25 point, 5 from salvation but with only one victory in the last 7 matches played their faith may be decided.

They are the only team who have yet to win any matches whilst playing away and their statistic is far from recommending them to obtain a positive result in this game with 3 draws and no less than 11 losses in all 15 played completed with a disastrous goal ratio of 10 scored and 34 conceded.
