France Ligue 1 on Sunday with a couple of interesting matches and a very balanced duel at first glance between Olympique Lyon and Toulouse.

Lyon is currently on the 5th spot of the table and with a total of 26 points they are back in the race for the competition trophy, trailing leaders Lille by only 2 points at the start of the round.

Good form for them in home matches as well with 3 victories in the last 4 played here in the Ligue 1 but with a 2-2 draw as the last played against PSG which set them back a bit.

Toulouse seems to he recovered after 3 straight defeats and won it’s last 2 matches played in the competition against Auxerre and Caen to grab the 9th spot of the table now, just 2 points behind their current adversaries.

They hold the best statistic in away matches of all teams involved with 4 victories and one draw in all 8 played so far and it’s a known fact that their main focus is defense.

Probably the most interesting match of the 3 taking place in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday as Toulouse welcomes Lille.

Toulouse started the season very well but lost ground in the last 2 round, losing against Saint-Etienne and finishing in a goalless draw this week away to Montpellier.

They are a very strong team on home ground with defense in mind, a fact reflected by the small amount of goals conceded but it’s game is not very spectacular and showing few goal opportunities.

Lille seems to be growing in the last 2 rounds after starting the campaign with 4 straight draws in which they scored only 2 and conceded the same.

Their only conclusive victory so far was the 1-4 win away to Lens 2 weeks ago which they managed to consolidate last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Auxerre.

This week, Toulouse has a great opportunity of climbing one spot in the French Ligue 1 table in front of PSG with this relatively easy match against Grenoble on Saturday.

Toulouse is far from the form and performances showed in the last season with it’s current ranking in the lower part of the table and especially their current form as they have yet to win any matches from the past 5 played.

On home ground they are still showing a decent statistic with 7 victories and 3 draws in 15 played with a good goal ratio of 15 scored and 10 conceded, a good defensive force but a weak offence especially for a team playing with the support of the fans.

Grenoble is last in the standings and condemned for relegation as they managed to gather only 15 points in 31 matches played no less than 17 at the moment from salvation, so an impossible task.

Only one victory for them in away matches and another 2 points from 2 draws with no less than 12 games lost, nothing really that would recommend them as claiming a positive result from this match.

With a comfortable spot in the French Ligue 1 table, Rennes is far from any spot in a European event next season but with no worries regarding the danger zone as are their adversaries in this match Toulouse.

Stade Rennes is currently on the 8th spot of the charts with a total of 43 points, the same as 7th Lorient and 8th Marseille and an improvement in form lately as after 3 straight losses they managed to win the last 2 matches played.

Their statistic in home matches is one of the strongest in the league with no less than 9 victories and 2 draws in all 14 played and a very good goal ratio of 23 scored and 11 conceded, less than one goal received per game.
