Their home play so far is vastly superior in terms of results that the overall, Werder Bremen managing to win 4 out of the past 5 home games showing a powerful defense.

Wolfsburg is currently on the 13th spot of the Bundesliga table with a total of just 17 points in all 15 matches played and with only one victory in the last 7 played it’s hard to see them achieving a positive result against Werder Bremen.

Their away statistic is just awful with no less than 6 defeats and a draw in the last 7 played in all competitions and their huge gaps in defense could be an easy target for an offensive team such Werder.

After the thrill of the Euro 2012 preliminaries, the domestic leagues are back, Bundesliga opening the show on Friday with a very interesting fixture as Werder Bremen welcome raining champions Borussia Dortmund.

Werder Bremen showing a fine form so far in the competition as they stand on a honorable 2nd spot in the Bundesliga table, 3 points below leaders Bayern Munchen.

They’ve lost their last match in the competition away to Hannover 96 with a 3-2 scoreline, showing yet again their offensive strength as well as their weakness in defense.

Borussia Dortmund is currently on the 6th spot of the chart with a total of 13 points in all 8 played. The team is not out of the title books yet but it’s clear their mission will be much harder compared to the last year.

A clear 4-0 victory against Augsburg gave the team a much needed morale boost in the last round played but still they seem to have big problems whenever playing on the road.

Remaining matches of the Bundesliga second round on Sunday with Bayer Leverkusen closing this week’s action as they welcome Werder Bremen in a very though fixture.

Poor start to the new season for Bayer Leverkusen as they where eliminated from the DFB Pokal in the very first round by 2. Bundesliga team Dynamo Dresden and lost it’s first match in the league last week away to Mainz 2-0 the final score.

Although they finished on a honorable 2nd spot of the table, their summer friendly matches painted another picture and it appears that their official matches to date confirms this.

Werder Bremen on the other hand with a promising start to the new season as they where victorious both in the cup and the season oppening last week against Kaiserslautern 2-0 the scoreline.

After the disappointing last season when they only achieved a 13th spot, pressure is mounting for a competitive presence in the tournament and a place at the top of the table.

Day two in the first round of the German Bundesliga 2011-2012 season with Werder Bremen welcoming Kaiserslautern for whet is expected to be a very interesting and appealing fixture.

Their DFB Pokal game last week brought them a clear and undisputed victory, 0-3 away to Oberliga’s BFC Dynamo, giving them a good morale as they make this difficult trip so early on in the Bundesliga season.
